American Analytical Services conducts all sample preparation on the premises. Rock/ore samples are crushed for rock, soil, or sediments.

Testing results are available in a timely manner. Standard turn-around time is two-weeks but sample results may be available on a 48-hour or 1-week basis upon request.

Quality Controls:

The laboratory maintains a strict quality control regimen to ensure that our clients are provided with the most accurate analytical results possible. All samples are assigned an internal laboratory identification number and documented with a chain of custody.

Instrumentation is calibrated before use using standards traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Calibrations are checked with control samples and continuing calibration standards are run periodically to identify and correct for drift. Records are kept of all quality assurance results.

In addition to internal calibrations and check samples, American Analytical Services, Inc. participates in water pollution studies provided by the EPA. The laboratory has achieved a minimum 90% passing score on each study of participation.

Certifications/accreditations:

The metallurgical laboratory is also certified as an ISO 17025:2005 Testing and Calibration Laboratory.

American Analytical Services, Inc. participates in water pollution studies provided by the EPA. In these studies samples of known concentration (but unknown to our lab) are sent by the EPA to AAS to be analyzed. The results are reported and compared to the actual concentrations, ensuring that AAS results maintain high accuracy.

American Analytical Services, Inc. is recognized by the Department of Ecology as an accredited laboratory for the analytical parameters listed on the Scope of Accreditation.
